After I enter the broken tunnel with the Raw Science outside I swim up and both doors are red. I attempt to use the biometric scanner but the door remains red and cannot be opened.

Note that in online videos the room with the locked doors looks like a storage room with shelves in the middle and the biometric scanner opens the door which leads up to air and the power lab.
