Serpiko82
We have bows and crossbows, we have special arrow types, we have silk ropes, we have rope anchors. So, I guess it would make sense to have a new special type of rope arrow? REQUIREMENTS Depending on the allowed uses, it should be a tier 2 or 3 item. It would be a single use item, lost once shot. I thought the recipe for each arrow should include: -feather arrows (splinter if locked at tier 3) -silk rope (10 to 20 units, depending on balancing) -glue (1 or 2 each) -(alternative to glue) a wall anchor POSSIBLE USES: 1) QUICK ZIPLINE CREATION shooting a rope arrow while standing near an available zipline anchor would immediately create a zipline between said anchor and the point where the arrow lands. Basically, this would allow the creation of a zipline from one side only, without the need to build an anchor on the other side beforehand. In order to keep it balanced and not make the old building system obsolete, the length of the rope should limit the maximum range of the arrow, and thus the max allowed length of the quick zipline. (Optional: the anchoring point created by the arrow may perhaps be temporary, requiring further resources to be cemented into a permanent installation.) 2) COMBAT: BINDING THE TARGET When shot at a creature, the rope arrow would instantly create a bind between the point the shooter is standing and the target, preventing it from moving any further. The arrow itself should only deal basic damage (or even less). The bind should be temporary, but last at least twice the time it usually takes for arrows to drop off. The target would still be able to move and fight, it just wouldn't be able to move outside of the boundaries created by the rope until the effect expires. Standing closer to the target would create a shorter binding, leaving the target with less room for movement (higher risk, higher effectiveness). Shooting multiple rope arrows from different angles would eventually block the target in place (until the effect expires). Of course, it would NOT work against bosses. Useful applications: -Great tactical tool for ranged builds, both main and support; -Restrict the movement of the target, staying safe from jumping/charge attacks by just standing out of range; -Help to flee from an excessively strong opponent, preventing it from chasing -Possible effective combo with grenades, gas arrows and other AOE weapons; -Bind flying creatures to the ground, within melee range; -Easier to catch otherwise fast and elusive creatures, such as scarabs.
