When loading our shared world I just have a black screen with hud and ambient music only, cant open any menu's and the give up option is greyed out.

Is there any way to fix this as I'd rather not have to start all over again.

I had this problem and I solved it by asking my friend to enter his save game and then he invited me and unlocked me from the blue screen, then I saved the game and reloaded from where I left off.
