Are items supposed to be at half durability after doubling the item durability in the patch?

All of my weapons and armor are at half durability after the patch doubled their durability.

Is this intended?

Yeah it would appear this is intended (also easier to do) you get extra durability but you don't get a free repair, so your items have the same current remaining durability from before the patch but now have a higher maximum

Thank you for the insight. I kind of thought items that did not need repair would be 100% still but any item that was 100% is now 50%. So I have to repair items that did not need repair.
Wanted to ask because I am early in the game and don't have the resources for it. It's easy enough to farm though.
