Please fix this broken building mechanic!

Unbuilt blueprints (blue unfinished structures) should NOT have the ability to destroy hundreds of “connected” already built pieces of a building. How do you expect us to preview something and decide what looks best, if after you’ve already constructed a high effort structure, every single new piece even UNBUILT will now destroy the ENTIRE structure once placed even as a preview. This is a flawed design that needs to be patched please. Nothing that is still unbuilt in previous mode should support any other structure, it is horribly unfair and forces you to reload a previous save to avoid hours of aesthetic building to not be lost.
