Smithing Table Bug: Unable to upgrade Black Any Sword past lvl 7 Fresh

For some reason, I'm unable to upgrade the Black Ant Sword in the smithing table despite having the needed 5 Mint Jewels required for this upgrade level. When I click to upgrade anything else, the sound effect occurs and it is upgraded. When attempting to upgrade my Black Ant Sword to level 8 Fresh, requiring 5 mint Jewels, the sound effect for the upgrade complete occurs but the weapon remains un-upgraded. Not sure why this happens but the ability to continue upgrading my gear would be super helpful.
