Oak Lab Story Progression - Didnt Happen

Anyone experience an issue with the storyline not progressing to open the Oak Lab back up?  I am the host of our 4 player game, died of thirst, and went to the bathroom.  The rest of the team finished the mysterious machine without me and saw the cut scene of the explosion but the Oak Lab door never opened for them.  Restarted the game and it did not fix the issue.  The cut scene happened, we go to the oak lab door, it does not show the explosion results and the lab door is still locked.
