Gum Nuggets are not dropping

When im  trying to harvest a gum it doesent drop the gum nuggest why? and what can i do about it? pls help

Its a bug. Ive had a couple of Gum Spawns not drop nuggets upon harvesting, it seems to me to just be a visual bug and im sure the devs will fix it for the 1.0 release. Can i ask are you having this problem will all Gum Spawns? 

Ive personally only found 1 bugged spawn so far under the Picnic Table
