No Recipes In Craft Menu

Greetings all,

First time player, so maybe I just don't know how it's supposed to be but I see no recipes at all in my craft or enchant menu, both are just completely blank.  Not even the one I was supposed to get from the cook shows up.  I read on another thread that you're supposed to just start with the recipes so I got the impression something went wrong for me.  Is this a bug?  If so is there a fix?

    Configure browser push notifications
    Chrome (Android)
    1. Tap the lock icon next to the address bar.
    2. Tap Permissions → Notifications.
    3. Adjust your preference.
    Chrome (Desktop)
    1. Click the padlock icon in the address bar.
    2. Select Site settings.
    3. Find Notifications and adjust your preference.
