Repair tool not working properly in old saves/ Indestructible walls

I was trying to reproduce the repair tool issue, but ran into another bug that made it kinda difficult: my walls wouldn't take damage. For reference, I added a clean, functioning example at the end.

 

I start with tools I made before the 8/26 patch, in a game on day 80-something, at a base that has seen a wolf spider or two and many, many gnats. The damaged walls aren't displaying correctly- they should have red bars instead of green. The repair tool seems to hit nothing except a stray blade of grass. NOT IN RECORDING: I made a new tools after the patch, still didn't function.

 

I move on to an even older base in the same game, much less damage, with a tool that had at one point worked, then suddenly stopped. When I go to try and damage the walls, nothing.

 

Last is the clean example, in a fresh game I started after the patch on 8/26. The wall health bars seem to be accurate, and the repair tool, despite all my abuse, still working.

 

Not the most ideal workaround for players, but hope this video helps retroactive games!
