Waters Striders Added to Pond

Looking at the pond area and imagining what kind of creatures could reside there I thought it would be rad if water striders were added! Looks like the scientific name is Gerridae... would be so cool to hunt them and craft boots to stride on the water like them! 
maybe some lily pads added to that area for early traversal would do it some good too! Just some thoughts...
