Is it normal for bodies to just disappear?

Just started playing the game.  

When I kill enemies, only a few of the bodies remain.  Maybe one in four of them are there.  Even when I kill something right out in the open, the body will more often than not just disappear.  

Is this normal, or am I experiencing a glitch?

Configure browser push notifications
