I can't progress past edgewater on my first playthrough

So on my first run of the outer worlds, I have been somewhat of a genocidal maniac. As soon as I got the quest in edgewater to get a power regulator, I killed everyone in the town except for my companion. Now, I have gone and diverted power to the botanical lab and when I went back to edgewater to retrieve the regulator, all the doors leading down to the regulator are sealed shut. Is there anything I can do to get down to the regulator or did I just screw myself over?
