I have waited until this patch to start dont bite the sun, as it had auto failed for me every time I tried before.  Downloaded patch, loaded my save in Byzantium, headed to the ship to try again.

Just like before, the quest auto-fails mid-conversation with Parvati, showing up as botched and saying she died in the quest log.  I'm playing on hard, havent touched supernova yet.  This is the only quest in the game ive had an issue with, companion or otherwise, and it just refuses to work.

I interpreted part of the patch notes as saying a botched bugged companion quest will be set as active when adding that companion to your party and leaving the unreliable, but I tried it and no luck.  Likely I misread the patch notes.

Playing on Xbox one, version is 1.1.1.387

I actually came here to report the same thing, although I'm not nearly as far through the game as the OP.  I have the same issue, however, in that Parvati's 'date' quest auto-failed on me.   I've updated to today's patch -- also Riel 1.1.1.387 -- to no effect.  I suppose the key difference between myself & the OP is that I'm playing the PC version of this game.

If there are specific instructions to get this quest to fire, it might be a good idea to post them clearly somewhere.

I have the exact same issue. I didn't want to start Don't bite the sun because it kept failing so I was really waiting for this patch to fix it, but apparently I should have just let it get botched before this patch...

Same here on PS4. I hope the patch does not only prevent the issue BEFORE Parvati has supposedly died.
