XBox One: problems start when picking up the gold teeth

After picking up picking up the gold teeth, my game goes buggy. Every time after that I speak to Adelaide, her speech and facial details take a while to load. Most other NPCs also have their speech delayed. When I got to the point of taking off in the ship, the loading screen would come up and stall for several minutes, then the game would crash. I thought maybe I had a bad save file, so I started a new game, but I just picked up the gold teeth, and talking to Adelaide causes the same problem.
