Passion Pills will not start

Cannot get the passion pills quest to start. I spoke with Nyoka and picked the medical option. It went downhill from there. I can't progress through the main story now.

Yep, all I’ve gotten so far as a response is that I should just reload to before the quest triggers and bring no companions. I’ve said this elsewhere but I’ll lose hours of gameplay if I do that, and I’d like a real fix.
