I played for about 2 hours with no problem at all... but now I cannot play due to the game constantly crashing.  The error I get is: "Out of video memory trying to allocate a texture! Make sure your video card has the minimum required memory..."

I have 1080ti x 2 in SLI.  This is not enough to run this game?  Is it really my video card, or should I wait for a patch?  Thanks.

EDIT: I have the Epic store version.

Update:  So I uninstalled, then re-installed, but now it's even worse.  I can't even get to the start menu before it crashes.  It crashes as soon as the picture of the spaceship appears on screen, and before the "Start Game" prompt appears.  I'm running it in 3440x1440 if that matters.

Does the Epic Store provide refunds?

Unfortunate, Unreal Engine 4 does not properly support SLI, so the game will only use GPU1. If you try to force SLI, it will crash / not work.

This is one of the main reasons I dislike that the Unreal Engine has gotten so popular for game devs.

Also, have you installed the latest nVidia drivers, which have support for The Outer Worlds?

Yes, I've installed the latest drivers... but you are correct about the SLI.  I disabled SLI and now the game is working properly.  This is the first game I've played where SLI made it crash.  Thanks for the tip.

So if anyone else is using SLI and experiencing problems... disable it!
