The issue is that it automatically fails the moment I accept it from Felix. And I have no idea why. It just immediately enters the botched section of my quest log.

I have the same problem. Level 26, I finished Monarch and some other stuff before looking at Scylla.

I've tried:

  • Saying I'll help on the ship.
  • Saying I don't have time on the ship.
  • Ignoring him, adding to party for Scylla, and telling him I'll help outside.

I can't find a way of accepting the quest without it immediately failing.

Same here. I’m able to progress through the quest a bit, even though it shows up as botched, up until i need to speak to Clyde again. Didn’t kill or even talk to any of the associated NPCs before the quest came up so I don’t know why it automatically failed.
