Black screen during level up. Driver crashes and is sometimes uninstalled after reboot.

Sometimes in the level up menu the device driver will crash, black screen but I can still hear the game audio. After a restart my Nvidia driver will sometimes be uninstalled. Windows Event Viewer shows a Device Window Manager (dwm.exe) crash. 

 

Pillars 2 is the only game where I have this problem. 

 

Tried completely reinstalling drivers with a driver cleaner utility, did some basic GPU diagnostics and nothing seems to be wrong.
