    Could you explain how to do this hackery? i have the exact same problem and it is driving me nuts! you could be my saviour! please help Edit--- Found out how... edit the the last of the 3 .res files in your specific save folder using a hex editor and find the line with the area code... alter the code to the one you wish and load the game as normal. When it loads the game will load the area you specified, then flciker and load the area you were originally "trapped" in. however now the transition will work! yay!!!
