i was going to get a new laptop this summer but with this whole kotor2 problem i made the decision earlier. i just wanna get the best one i can even whether is works better with kotor2 doesnt matter. I think the ATI x800 is a newer card but some people are saying that the nvidia 6800 is the best. thanks

well im buying a new alienware laptop and i have a choice to get either one. it'll cost the same thing for both so which one is more beneficial to me? thanks again

i wanna know if someone who has a laptop is getting the game to work? even if u have an outdated laptop or a top of the line. i keep seeing that the game will not work on laptops. is it true or pure speculation? thanks

with the problems for this game its angered me enough to get a new computer. Does anybody have an alienware or know anything about it that would make it worth buying. i configured one and it came out to like $2300. i really considering ordering it.

yup same exact problem here if so many have the same exact problem does the devs know and r they trying to fix this problem with a new patch? i wish we had some idea to what was going on, or how long

i have the cats 5.2 but how to do upgrade my OpenGL drivers? i have ATI Technologies Inc. -1.34898 Win XP Release and it says it requires: Non-Windows Generic OpenGL 1.4.0 drivers i thought the cats would fix this but it doesnt, anybody know thanks again

i guess ill try the 5.2 cats again, i wish we could find one driver that would work

same here thats been one of the big problems for this game so far, it seems to be the ati cards i have the radeon 7500 and ive heard of people who have better cards having the same problem. we're still hopeful for the patch this is being discussed at numerous other threads so look for all the ideas and suggestions that have been given

yea that irriates me alot, when i cant play games that i love i have to decide to get ps2 or xbox where problems dont happen or buy an alienware comp and enjoy that

theres no way im returning this if i takes a couple of months to get a proper patch or i buy a new computer i love continue games and i loved kotor and rpgs

yea i got a laptop with the radeon 7500 and i have the same problem, actually alot of people do. there are some of the drivers that some people have had success like the 5.2 cats or the omegas. it depends on ur computer though we have to wait for a good patch hopefully

any new word on a patch?

i was thinking about that but if i get screwed over buying 2000$ comp i will be pissed. but its a good idea to check. i looked at one of the systems on the site and mapped it out and looked to be like 2500$ for mostly top of the line. ill have to think about it

well to people who have laptops can u upgrade your graphics card? i dont know if u can, im not sure if some u can and some u cant. cause i would upgrade it just to play this game. im considering getting an alienware laptop cause i heard those are incredible for gaming

there is no need to talk back to people like that its pointless. this forum is not here for argument but for helping people with specfic problems that some people here can help with. Laptops arent made for gaming yes that is true but some high level systems can run anything. games should be made to run on any system i love having good graphics on a game but to me its the least important part of a game and i would rather have the game run smoothly with bad graphics then have high end graphics like half-life but for it to have problems and need constant fixing please post on here if u have solutions or problems with ati graphics card whether u have a laptop or not

ok, people who have any ati graphics card that are having problems with the game should state what their problem is what type of card they have and what have u tried to fix it. i have seen many posts on what u can do, like disabling movies, downloaded all these different drivers. just say what u've tried and whether its worked so maybe we can find a solution or at least helped someone make a good patch. i have the the radeon 7500 on a laptop and the game crashes after character creation. i have tried the omega 4.9s and the cats 5.2s, ive put in the line Disable Vertex Buffer Objects=1 in the graphic options on the .ini file, ive disabled movies. nothing has worked but at different points of me trying this sometimes the game screen will be black and i can hear the music and then it shuts off, then other times i can see inside of the ship likes it going to work but it just does the same thing and shuts off. so there must be something that has worker, so combos has to work or make it better. im hoping this will help people get all of their problems in the open and try and find a solution that we have all not thought of yet. thanks for your help

and i will repeat it please fix the problems with the ati cards like not being able to get past the character creation screen and also help the less fortunate with laptop problems

Boba, i installed the mod and the cat 5.2s but it still doesnt work. i heard somewhere about installing the beta cats 8.07s, would that help? thanks
