My family was playing a co-op game of Grounded a couple days ago. At the end of the game, one of my kids decided to SuperQuit. That logged him out of XBox Live.
Yesterday, when I went to log him back into XBox Live, I accidentally entered the wrong email address. Now, I'm stuck. When I try to go back to fix the email address, nothing happens when I click NEXT. Now, every time I boot the game, the game tries to log me into XBox Live and I end up on the same screen that shows the mis-spelled email address and I can't fix it.
It is the Steam version of the game. I can log into the XBox Game Bar, the XBox App, the XBox Console Companion, and the Microsoft Store with my son's account but I still get the same, misspelled email address when I am trying to log in through Grounded.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game 3 times. I have disabled Steam's cloud saving service. I have cleared the temporary files and misc system cache in Windows 10. I have tried right clicking the Microsoft login popup and clicking BACK (this just takes me back to the XBOX Live splash screen, then back to the stupid, misspelled email address page). I also submitted this problem to Obsidian but I don't know when, if ever, I will hear back or if they can resolve this issue.
I'm baffled with how to re-set this login screen so I can put in the correct email address. We were all having a great time with this game but now everyone has had to stop playing until I get this resolved. Does anyone have any suggestions about other steps I could take that don't involve resetting Windows 10 or creating a completely different login to the PC?
As a final note, I don't have the PC logging into a Microsoft account when I boot it up.
