Marc Derell: You don't happen to work in marketing, do you? What company is totally irrelevant, but it just sounds like you're using all the proper buzzwords for talking about a game without saying anything.
The main reason I prefer to play the Icewind Dale series over the Baldur's Gate series is that I don't automatically lose if the "main" character dies, say from being imprisoned by a demi-lich with unlimited uses of the spell, which has no saving throw. Come on, that was one of the most retarded ideas I've ever seen. You're not DEAD. At the very least in a good party your party members would cast freedom to bring you back if you're a good person, too. Should never have been end-game because your Bhaal essence was still with you, just imprisoned deep within the earth.
But then again I thought the storyline and method of the Baldur's Gate series was far better than that of Icewind Dale. So I am left playing between each of them equally. )
Icewind Dale 3 or Baldur's Gate: The Spawnlings (my title, nobody elses') would both be good ideas for me. I'd even be tempted to ask for them in the Infinity engine to keep with the series because I really don't think 3D would do the games justice. You just don't get the same quality of maps that you did in those games.
