That's because they are not so special. They are just good looking girls who covered some game music, which then made nerds go crazy about them. OMG GAMERRR GURRLLZZZ!! There are much more talented people out there who have something more to show for themselves than 100,000 YouTube subscribers. Lindsey doesn't need to do gaming covers to be awesome. Most of her stuff isn't gaming covers actually. For example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sf6LD2B_kDQ That's a very wet gorgeous woman who knows how to play violin really well while moving all over the place (yes, I've seen her do it live in front of a crowd). You're argument is invalid. :-P My problem with that video is that she isn't playing the violin in it. She is simply mimicking the motions. Plus, it's a bad idea to get violins wet. She is playing the violin, and also matching it to her movements on the screen. That's exactly what they do in music videos, the lyrics you hear in them aren't being sung in the moment you are watching on screen, they're just mouthing the words while in another recording they sing it. And she used her backup violin for the water scene.

Parties, certain fights depending on pacing, cut-scenes with more up-beat story bits. PE should be a fully fleshed living world with just as many up-beat bits as doom and gloom bits. Walk into a tavern and the atmosphere should reflect it. Why not even have some quests(optional) where you help children go about their happy play instead of just slaying monsters at every corner? I in no way shape or form endorse dubstep for Project Eternity. I only showed that video as evidence for Lindsey being awesome without it being about gaming.

Well keep in mind that Malukah is dealing with her own equipment and all on her own. How many artists can write, sing, edit, and produce their own track all on their own? I'm not saying that Malukah should be the front and center only singer on the team that never shuts up, but having her sing a few lines for a single track would be nice I feel.

you posted a flippin' DUBSTEP video. Your argument is invalid. Now here's a girl off of Youtube! I think she could pull it off for Eternity! At least we agree that woman you cited would be good for P:E ;-P That said, my original argument is EXTRA valid, because Lindsey made DUBSTEP look awesome. That takes talent my friend.

And the funny thing is I don't think so. They would probably do it pretty cheap to get yet more subscribers, but probably still more than some real professionals if they decide to order whole score from same group. DA:O promotion campaign? Now I honestly think you are just trolling here. That was the most ridiculous fantasy-RPG trailer I had ever seen and I actually doubted after seeing that campaign if the game was for me after all. Marilyn Manson screaming THIS IS THE NEW S***! over that other trailer pushed the bar even lower. Those trailers made me wait for few days before buying just to get confirmation that neither of those artists performed on actual soundtrack. Oh, the horrible memories. And I like 30 Seconds to Mars by the way. I hope that didn't discourage you from playing DA:O. 2nd favorite game of all time.

Yeah, it's a shame Skyrim sucked. Before it came out I was expecting it to be at the top or near the top on everyone's "Game of the Year" lists. I mean, if everyone in media was calling it the game of the year, it'd be pretty silly to call it a terrible game . . . but noooo . . . no one did anything of the sort.

You are absolutely right. They should hire Asja. You know, the one who sang the original song which was INFINITELY better than Malukah's cover? I'm sick of Malukah. She's everywhere, but she's not even that great a singer. I liked The Dragonborn Comes, but not the rest of her covers. Age of Aggression was particularly awful because this song needs passion and her rendition was too mellow. I don't want her in Project Eternity, if they hired her I'd do whatever was necessary to remove her voice from the game. There are so many less controversial artists out there, why not choose one of them? This thread is the first I've heard of any "controversy" with her. I've heard nothing but good things till now.

Speking local artists for Obsidian, Lindsey Stirling has made some best video game covers what I have seen. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BSLPH9d-jsI&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b3KUyPKbR7Q&feature=related But this is not any suggestion or demand, but something that come mind when I saw Ieo's post. Again, I'll reference Dragon Age: Origins. The woman who sang the opening theme to that game still haunts my dreams, and I'd have it no other way. There's room for a soloist, at least for the opening.

Oh dammit don't bring Lindsey into this, I can only deal with so much sexy at one time. Yes, she's great, but what makes her great is her look, her editing, and her dancing in combination with her violin. Other than publicity I don't see what she'd bring . . unless they pulled a Felcia Day and modeled a game character after her . . . then my girlfriend may have to break up with me.

Generally seem . . . what? Don't get me wrong, I think most of it should be instrumental. I think of Dragon Age in that regard. However for all the great instrumental music in that game, the opening sequence with that amazing female voice is what sticks with me the most. That said, my argument extended well beyond her talents. You can find plenty of talented artists, no question. The point was that she has a following in the gaming community, and thus an announcement that she is joining the team, regardless of capacity, would be a boon for Project Eternity.

So they hit the 4 million mark, which means we're getting live orchestal music with what I am sure is going to be an awesome game that I am very pumped for. In all honesty, the only other game I've been more pumped for is Skyrim. I think Obsidian and Bethesda have a good relationship so I don't feel bad mentioning a competitor. Speaking of Skyrim, remember Malukah? She put out a great . . no . . amazing cover of "Dragonborn Comes". Remember how much the internet flipped over that? They loved it. Would it not be great for not only Malulah, whose voice I think it at the very least if I'm being pessimistic is good enough to warrant appearing in a game, but also publicity for Obsidian, if they hired her to do some sort of work for Project Eternity? I'm not impling it needs to be a fully companion character (though I wouldn't be opposed to it, depending on her acting skills) but even if they had her sing to a single track the internet would spread that word around and bring even more popularity to Project Eternity, and Maluka would benefit from the exposure. To me, it's a win\win. What do you think?
