do you have to restart your computer before it works again, like it was the case with someone in this thread: http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/83785-poe-continuosly-crashes-in-game/ ? There the problem was caused by an overclocked cpu.
I had the same problem with an undervolted cpu after the 3.0 patch. I raised the core voltage and after that the game didn't crash anymore (at least up to now). Seems like my cpu wasn't as stable as I thought it was.
So if you overclocked or undervolted your cpu, you could try to restore the standard settings and see if it solves the problem.
