I still need help with this. Please help?

Okay. So, I was on my Sister's Desktop playing KOTOR2 and the textures were great. I had everything at the highest settings except for grass and shadows and I loved it. Then when it comes time for me to leave, I go to my house and play on my laptop and the textures are horrible. It won't even let me force anything to get to the highest settings. My texture level is at High. It won't let me change the Antialiasing. It won't let me put Antrioscopy past 2x. And overall the game just doesn't look at good. Even if I force it by changing it through the Ini, nothing changes and it still looks horrible. What can I do?

Actually...I played the game over my friend's house, cause his desktop (Though it ran Windows 7 and the files were not changed at all) ran it just fine but my laptop did not. I played until the point of...Well, RIGHT before I had to choose between which 4 planets I wanted to go to. I ran the game again on my laptop when I got home and it loaded the save just fine and played.

Okay...So I was just wondering something... For people who have newer computers who can't fix the Crashing after Character Creation...I was wondering something. What if someone makes a save file that is RIGHT after the part where people usually crash and upload it, and people could possibly use a saved game editor to change the character to how they wanted it to be and then save it. Then just play the edited save game? Or is it just that we aren't able to run the graphics of the game whatsoever when it starts or something?
