I got the bee bug and was building up to it using scaffolding. I was using the triangle but this might work with any of them. and any other pieces also. If you move the triangle scaffold you can move it above the one you are standing on. So with 2 you can keep going up. If you snap it in place it then has to be destoryed but if it is not connected to another piece you can move it again. To see what i mean get 2 stems. Make a triangle. face the tip like it is a pointing arrow. Put the next triangle in the same direction so it does not touch the current one. Chose move on the one you are standing on. Hop on the new one and move the first above it. Repeat. Again if you do it wrong they connect and you can no longer move. If you destroy either (i think) the other plummets from the sky, but as long as you dont delete one.... endless 2 steps stairs.

I had this issue. I think it happens if you agro the bees and dont fight them. I got attacked by orc and pulled the bees and ran away. I discovered hours later when I got the quest that it was up in the air. It can be pulled after building for hours.
