  1. While it is an interesting change it does complicate using a shield. I suggest either making it similar to Grounded 1 so you still have the option to work at night or making a light headband that attaches to any helmet so you can keep your same protection and have an option for light. Lag on PC is marginally better, but a lot more optimization is needed to make it playable for more than half a hour at a time.
  2. I am extremely hopeful that the lag I experienced, both in multiplayer and single player, when playing on steam will be a priority when it comes to improvements. Other comments- the tool changes are a great idea except I would prefer to use the attack action and instead have the hold “e” as a option in accessibility so people with hand cramps can choose it. Most of the changes are actually pretty fantastic as far as I can tell with what little I can play with lag (gotta stay in rather safe areas when you can’t fight well from lag). Other suggestions: Loving the new insects but roach nymphs are way stronger than expected. I have a pet tarantula and feed her roaches and while the adults can be tough the nymphs are ridiculously weak. In nature they are known for soft body because their strategy for survival is hiding in narrow places rather than being tanky. I would love to be able to set traps. To catch certain insects like aphids and gnats rather than having to chase them down. Defensive traps would also be nice. Better choice in assigning weapons and consumables to hot bar would be a great improvement. Looks like a great sequel and looking forward to seeing improvements, especially in lag so it’s not so hard to play!
  3. Traps can be a blast. When I played The Forest I set a ridiculous number of traps. Getting materials took time but then watching the enemies get constantly caught was extremely entertaining. 100% agree traps would be great in Grounded.
  4. One thing I forgot to mention is I do kinda miss just swinging to take down grass with an attack click, but I also think leaving the hold “e” in the accessibility options instead would be good in case some people are prone to hand cramps!
  5. Lag is definitely a problem. I was trying out the new option to have a save anyone can access even when I’m not on to host but oh boy we had to take a break and go play OG Grounded again because of lag. Even as host on Steam I had lag. Oh and some of the items were falling below the ground occasionally. However! With what I saw as upgrades to the original in terms of tool use, enemies and such, I was extremely pleased with the direction they are taking the sequel. Honestly because of the studio’s history I’m way more confident in seeing these things fixed than I would be with things made by others. They have a good track record.
