My friend and I encountered a Scorpion in the early game and ran from it. We retreated all the way to our beginning base near the first ranger station. We then went out to get some more materials in that area only to find the scorpion had chased us all the way back to our base. We could not lose the scorpion despite our best efforts. It was like once it saw us, it followed us everywhere.
Our deaths didn’t change anything, sleeping didn’t change anything, quitting and logging back in didn’t change it. The only thing that fixed it was to cheese kill the scorpion.
The scorpion should not be able to track us indefinitely.
