    Update: I managed to get the quest to progress. I used the ranger tree invisible skill to walk up to the quest target and in that case I was able to speak to him and advance the quest. Then the boss still aggroed and had to speak to him. I can no longer speak to the guy to trade, but at least the quest is advanced. If you have a save where the boss has respawned try this out to get past it.

    Unable to continue main quest - Cannot talk to Apothecary

    Same problem here. No work around that I've found so far. Got in the fight with the people bothering the apothecary. Leave and come back to find the ogre spawned again and even after I kill him there is no way to speak to the quest objective.
