Hello! Your recognition of filetypes helped me to play the game again!
I have been playing on Linux... although I had to reinstall, so I copied my SavedGames folder to an external drive. I didn't work!
I took some time off from the problem, and reread your post. I noticed that the filetypes had all been changed to .zip ... and that the filetypes the game reads are not .zip. I simply removed the .zip from the filenames, and now it works!
You saved me. Thank you!
(I also had to turn off Steam Cloud sync)
