The hardest part is the south-east corner which has 7 or so high level enemies close enough to join the fight. It's much easier if you Sneak from the North just near enough for one of them to spot you and then retreat as far as you can, then kill just the one or two that follow. You can also use wall spells to slow down the last pursuers while you beat up the first ones. For the crypt in the far west area, I was able to sneak in and get the tablet without fighting at all.
