  1. I recently destroyed Goto's Yacht and then met the Jedi Master thats on Nar Shadaa. Anyway after that, it seems like the game is really messed up because I encountered more HK's near the dock area and then when I got to Ebon Hawk, cant access Galaxy Map. I have Restoration Content Mod and unofficial patch 1.0c installed... anything I can do? Any help appreciated...

Unofficial patch 1.0c is the problem. Nver use this with TSLRCM.

  3. "The Basilisk war droid version presented in K2 was an intentional departure from the ones presented in Tales of the Jedi, and we are happy, because frankly, those look really stupid. This is much the same reason that many of the designs in K1 are a departure from the ship designs in TOJ, and with good reason. So yes, the Basilisk droid version was an intentional departure from the older models, and we take full responsibility. It is noteworthy that LucasArts and Lucasfilm agreed with our decision on the first pass, much as they agreed with the decisions made with K1's look."

    ―Chris Avellone.

The two designs are canonical : an old one and a new one.

    Things change and evolve.

Remember that, shortly before Kotor 2, at the time of the legend of the Jedi, lightsabers were connected to their energy cell by a cable!

  4. Hi,

Translated from a French page :

This is the "False bug of the second force field of the "Sky Ramp"

It may be that, facing the second force field, on the "Sky Ramp", you can not break it down and that the message tells you that Bao-Dur could probably open it. Obviously, Bao-Dur is not in your activ group!

This message has deceived many users, since 2004, who think the game is definitely blocked, judging by the questions on the forums.

Simply speaking to Bostuco and the destruction of the second force field becomes possible. Look to Bostuco and have a new dialogue. It's Bostuco speaking:

    Captain Bostuco

"That traitor Vaklu has allied with the Sith. And somehow even the beasts follow them. "

As long as you have not had this conversation with Bostuco, the second force field will block the "Sky Ramp" (which is curious because this conversation has little to do with the force field!).

Note that the indispensable MOD TSLRCM, V 1.7, fixes this bug.

  5. Hi,

I do not believe and, anyway, the game is much pleasant and fast with the mouse and can be played entirely with the mouse. I have both versions so I know what I am talking about.

To my knowledge there is no mechanism for interfacing the PC version game with a controleur or a joystick.

  6. Hi,

    Vanilla bug.

    K2 pure, with 1.0b patch, that's all.

After having convince the Handmaiden to train as a Jedi, I am teleported to the secret academy on telos. It's empty and I can't do anything, nor return on board of the Hawk.

I've allready found answers about this when I did not need them but now, I am not able to find anything exept a link to the dead Team Gizka board.

    Why this happen ?

    What to do ?

    Thanks

  7. Hi,

As I can't edit my post to update a broken link, I quote it here updated.

    Hi Sir Chris Avellone

From the Casting Doc we sent to LucasArts...

    • PC - varies, depending on what you want your character to look like.
    • Atton Rand is 29-32.
    • Handmaiden, Disciple, and Visas Marr are all 25.
    • Kreia looks 50, but like Yoda, who knows.
    • T3 was built in K1, so he's only had 5 years of hard living.
    • Mandalore is 63 in Mandalorian years.
    • Mira is 23.

The others are not specifically referenced, but you can probably backtrack from their histories in the game to figure it out.

I think that for Brianna (Handmaiden), she is not 25. It is not possible according to some calculations that have been developed, in French, concerning the trial date of Arren Kae (which allows deducing the Brianna's birth date).

Trial date of Arren Kae and Brianna's birth date

In essence, when exiled, Arren Kae joined her disciple, Revan, in the Trayus Academy. Revan discovered this Academy in 3963 BBY therefore the trial of Arren Kae takes place, at the earliest, in 3963 BBY.

Can it take place later? In 3962 BBY or 3961 BBY BBY?

No, because the trial is triggered by the discovery that Arren Kae has a girl of 10 at the time of trial.

If the trial takes place in 3963 BBY, Brianna is 22 during KOTOR 2.

If the trial takes place in 3962 BBY, Brianna is 21 during KOTOR 2.

If the trial takes place in 3961 BBY, Brianna is 20 during KOTOR 2.

As we can not rejuvenate Brianna below 22 years, we retain a trial date the earliest possible, either 3963 BBY, and so, Brianna's is 22 during KOTOR 2.

Is this calculation wrong? Is there an element forgotten?

    Cordially

  9. Well, Kotor uses the registry so, if there have been two installations of K2 in two differents dir, and a try to use the oldest dir, there may be some inconsistencies.

Do what HH said for all Kotor dir installation.

Do a registry cleaning with a tool like CCleaner (a free tool)

    http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner

Do a partition optimisation with, in this order :

Contig (a free tool from Sysinternals - use its "Power Defragmenter GUI" otherwise it's a command line tool) - Use the two pass mode and wait. This will defragment files but will not reorganise free spaces.

    Sysinternals was acquired by Microsoft

    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-en/sysinternals/bb897428

After that, use the standard XP tool (Partition (C:\ or D:\... > Properties > Tools > Defrag). This will move files in order to have free spaces in the largest fragments as possible.

  10. Do you have others informations?

If using canonical material (Star Wars - The essential Atlas), the planets "Telos" and "Peragus II" are not at all at their places.

Coordinates of the planets on the map

    Telos IV - Q4

    Citadel - Q4

    Peragrus II - Q4

    Onderon - O9

    Dxun - O9

    M4-78 - O9

    Nar Shaddaa - S12

    Dantooine - L4

    Korriban - R5

    Malachor V - S4

And Dantooine should be moved to the left.

  11. Well

If you allow me, I must put some final touches to that thread :

Atris has released informations enabling identifying the Exile. She does not seek the Exile. She throws a bait.

At that moment, everyone seeks the Exile.

The Republic (the Admirals of the Republican army) wants the Jedi Order be rebuilt. They throw spies across the galaxy to find the last known Jedi: the Exile. Mical (the Disciple) is one of those spies.

Darth Traya seeks the Exile. She want to make her a tool against "new Sith."

The Siths will seek the Exile, as her profile has been released.

T3-M4, which has lost Revan in deep space, run the Bastila's petition and return in the Republican space, seeking help. He does not find the companion of his master, Bastila, as she is hidden by Carth Onasi. He finds no Jedi, since the last 5 are hidden in unlikely places. He turns, ultimately, to the master of his master, Darth Traya (aka Arren Kae).

Go-To (GoTo) received Revan order to save the Republic. He agreed that, as the admirals of the Republican army, a Jedi order (Sith preferably) would be an asset to stabilize the Republic so that trade (illegal) take place under good conditions. The HK-50, through all the Galaxy, form a single entity used by GoTo. They have several missions that search for the Jedi and spy all diplomatic conversations.

The Exiled was found by a spy, on the Outer Rim, and Admiral Carth Onasis reroute a second time, the Harbinger, for it to go to Telos. Why? Because that is where Onasis is based and where he lives (and he is one of the most important Admiral of the Republic and he is the best choice for a contact with a Jedi). He was a companion and a friend of Revan, and he continues to obey his orders, more than four years after his departure (and he hides Bastila home).

At the same time, T3-M4, aboard the Ebon Hawk arrives on Malachor just when Darth Traya is the victim of an attempted murder. She fled on board the Ebon Hawk, pursued by Darth Sion, and must then face Sith assassins and then fake her own death (catalepsy or catatonia) to escape Sion.

T3-M4 send a distress call, received by the Harbinger, who takes the Ebon Hawk in charge.

The events of kotor 2 starts 3.5 days before the prologue.

Both birth of Kotor 2 is the supplication of Bastila recorded in T3-M4 four years ago and the betrayal of Atris (we do not know exactly when but it seems to me a few days).

On board the Harbinger, HK-50, 3 days ago, captured the Exile and was waiting to be close of Nar Shaddaa in order to flee, aboard a rescue capsule.

The arrival of the Ebon Hawk and the Sith interferes with his plans and he decides to run away with the Ebon Hawk.

T3-M4 successfully captured HK-50 and direct the Ebon Hawk to Peragus. Darth Traya is still in catalepsy in the Ebon Hawk and has never set foot aboard the Harbinger. She lied to the Exile to attach her through feelings.

HK-50 manages to break free, destroy T3-M4 and he will be the only interlocutors of the Peragus minors.

We know, therefore, minute by minute, what happened since the last 3.5 days.

Obsidian On Star Wars: Knights of The Old Republic 3 News

Submitted by Chris Leyton on March 30 2006 - 21:05

We'd be happy to do KOTOR3 if that's what LucasArts wants us to do...

Speaking to TVG about the in-development NeverWinter Nights 2, Obsidian's Feargus Urquhart was also happy to discuss with TVG the current "will it/won't it" situation surrounding LucasArts Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 3.

"We have been talking with LucasArts to do KOTOR3 since August 2004 and we hoped to do it since KOTOR2 was done. LucasArts is thinking what they want to do with it and we would happily make KOTOR3, if that's what LucasArts wants to do."

So it seems ideas are on the table, whether or not LucasArts will conclude this trilogy faster then they do with others, however, remains to be seen.
