  1. Arcanum, Gabriel Knight and no Planescape: Torment. I'm disappointed.

I'm pretty sure there's no chance for any D&D re-releases until Wizards of the Coast settles their differences with Atari.

    EDIT:

So just used their shortcut and it runs fine, though in full screen.

    Try pressing alt+enter.

  2. Sean K Reynolds... that name rings a bell somehow. Wasn't he working for Black Isle at some point in time?!?

He did work on The Black Hound and Fallout 3 at Black Isle. I'm not aware of any other video game projects he was involved in. Stand by, I'll use my ninja google skills.

EDIT: He was also a designer on Dark Alliance 3.

    Terrible, terrible luck.

  3. BTW, could someone elaborate on what you would've based stealth? These are sweat smelling, integrated night vision wielding aliens after all.

    Keep reading

In a nutshell, at some point in the thread, Davis replaces the term "stealth" with "recon", which makes a bit more sense.

Besides, I believe Aliens weren't the only kind of enemy.

  4. A post by Josh Verrall, former Obsidian programmer

"Hmm, I don't think that's the most current footage from the time of cancellation, the HUD doesn't look right, and the game certainly was dark, but not black screen dark. But that can depend on how it was recorded.

It was definitely more action oriented, akin to Mass Effect."

For those that missed it, this thread on the Codex has some good info on Aliens RPG. Anthony Davis chimes in on page two. Unfrotunately, Roshambo hijacks the discussion later on.

Oh, but be careful - the link is very much not safe for work, including a picture of, uh, masturbating xenomorph. Tread lightly.

  5. The demo is really fun, isn't it? I usually avoid fighting like a plague in RPGs, playing diplomats in the three or so games that allow it, so the amount of enjoyment I got out of the combat demo comes as a surprise.

I played a two handed axe guy. I probably could have been smarter on how I spent my money. I got past the three raiders, but the next guy took me apart a couple times and I stopped there.

That only goes to show how varied the character builds can be. I wasn't able to get past the barbari for the longest time, but took down the next guy in the first try, with plenty of health to spare. I believe I was attacking his hands, lowering his AP in the following round, and also keeping close to him the whole time. That way, he couldn't hit me with his trident, and whenever he tried to disengage, I got an opportunity attack.

  6. Then I suppose it was a fanfic, which is a shame, it was good and well written (fanfic? well written? no way!), like a historic account.

There's a lot on Resource Wars in Fallout Bible. It's written by Avellone and was supposed to be canon back when it was first published.

  7. So that means you either have 10-15 hours left to spend on gaming for the rest of your life and you will never, ever buy another game again because you just don't have any gaming time left.. or you're using the dumbest argument ever made by man.

Hm? What argument? I'm not arguing anything.

  8. Lots of sites listing June as the release date all of a sudden. Seems like bull**** but I'm going to laugh if it's true and it turns out to be a 15 hour game or something like that.

Oh man, I would love a polished, 10-15 hour RPG with lots of reactivity. Personally, I don't have time for 50 hour epics anymore.

  9. Even the developers who worked on Fallout 1 never made a comparable game afterwards.

    Oh no, you didn't!

You don't even find Arcanum at the very least "comparable" to Fallout?
