I was wondering if weapon and armor concealability was going to be any kind of significant factor in this game. While I do realize, from looking at some of the screenshots, that there are going to be plenty of situations where you go in geared up like a super-soldier decked out in thick armor with a big honkin' assault rifle strapped to your back, I was wondering if there would be other situations that favor a more subtle approach even if you're a combat-oriented spy.
For example, I read in a preview article about a certain scene where you're taking a plane trip somewhere and you strike up a conversation with a passenger sitting next to you. Obviously, you can't just embark on a passenger airliner with obvious armor and an assault rifle. Situations like that would make carrying a pistol or training in hand-to-hand more favorable, as well as wearing an "undercover" protective vest under your shirt if that is (hopefully) possible in the game.
I also thought I read that NPCs will react to you differently depending on how you're dressed. You might be treated differently depending on whether you are in regular "street clothes", high-class suits, or decked out in a armored vest with helmet. From that, I'm extrapolating that carrying obvious weapons might play a role as well. If you've got a pistol discretely tucked away into a concealed holster underneath a leather jacket, you might be able to sweet-talk somebody more convincingly than if you had an assault rifle strapped to your back and an SMG strapped to your chest. Conversely, if your goal is to intimidate someone then that obvious rifle and SMG would actually state your case more prominantly.
Anyhow, this is just more food for thought and something we all can discuss. Maybe a developer could drop by and give us a nice juicey tidbit of info?
