I have 0 explosives, my group has 0 4 6 4 and the final skill I have was 5. Don't understand as well.

How dows it work? Looks weird. For example I have 2 survival (as shown in the levelup screen) and my party has 6 6 2 0. The game then tells me that my final skill is 2+5=7 Why? How? I have 1 mechanics and my party has 2 4 1 4 and the game tells me that my final skill is 1+6=7. Sorry I don't understand that at all.
