  1. SOLVED my problem!! It was graphics related after all but in my case not the drivers. I had installed the Duet Display client (Allows an iPad to be used as an extra screen on a Mac/PC) . Even though it wasn't actually running at the time, it was still causing PoE to crash on startup. I uninstalled Duet, rebooted and PoE runs fine. No other games seem to be affected which is what made it so hard to track down. Hope this helps anyone else with this problem.
  2. jmosh - coincube had the exact same error as you way back 27/3/15 (when there were lots of application exceptions happening) - see https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/71813-game-crash/page-7. This was caused by not having the correct graphics drivers installed. It's not the game that's causing my problems as I've regressed both the game and my video drivers and it still crashes. It also runs fine on my other PC running W10 . All I have to do now is find what W7 has changed in the last month.........
  3. It appears that Obsidian are still releasing patches for PoT on Steam - the last being in Jan 2018. I found a previous version and ran it.........and it crashed. Given that there are many references to NVidia in the error reports, the likely suspect now is updated video drivers from NVidea. Be interesting to know if Jmosh has an NVidea card.....
  4. I'm also getting the 'access violation' error. I had previously played 72 hours with no problems. However this error only started happening after the latest Steam update - my exe was updated 1/3/2018 after not playing for a couple of weeks. Can Obsidian confirm whether this a localised or general problem please?
