Why_oh_why

A scenario for NWN2 online play I would love to see is. A fully fledged world where we take whatever side we so choose, surface/underdark/good/evil etc etc. However, as in the single player game you get to own a stronghold. Players of whatever race could band together, gain or build a castle/city/stronghold or whatever, and forge a mighty kingdom out of it. Then we could mount raids or attacks on adversaries(other players) lands, all in realtime online. To the victor the spoils of war. If we defeat enemies on the field of battle, we get to loot all their goodies they had with them. Maybe even take possesion of their lands/kingdom. Imagine the awesome battles that would ensue. Of course, there is no support for this in MMORPG, and NWN is mostly PW unfortunately. So having it as a worldwide online world is probably out of the question. What do you think? Feel free to add to this idea if you like the sound of it.

For the camera issue, I would love it if the coders put in a feature like this. 10 Goto enter cramped room 20 Crisis = can't see whats attacking me 30 if player not = singleplayer goto 40 40 no pause possible 50 dammit why doesnt the camera automatically bump past the obstruction 60 ZOMG why_oh_why 70 if death = pwned by unseen forces goto 80 80 command = HEAL ME NOOB AI 90 if NOOB AI = ZOMG they are still around the corner playing spin the fanboi goto 100 100 Ragequit

I will continue to play the game regardless, I like the game, just a little dissapointed with the effort produced. Considering other offerings out there. I suppose I should stop reacting to the forums knee jerk reaction death squads. But as I said earlier, and I shall say again. If too many people get disillusioned with it, we will loose lots of good modders etc and will be poorer for choice later. Just imagine if the people that could in the future include horsies, decide to go elsewhere, no ponies for us. Loss of brainpower = lame mods and little in the way of aftermarket content, this is just an example straight of the top of my head, don't read too much into it. Just hope someone at obsidian understands what I'm trying to get across. I do understand that the wonderful people at obsidian are working hard to fix things, and I appreciate it very much for the support both past and present. ps, you have been corrected..... lolz

You are supposed to read what the reviewers say, I didn't say people don't like the game...ffs stop getting so defensive. With the advancements of games to date, I would have expected a little better.

Oh and someone stated that NWN1 has a falling popularity, thats a very simplistic argument, of course an older game is going to be loosing popularity. However, NWN2 has only just been released, so a downward trend of popularity of a brand new game is not good news. Those reviews above are from well developed 3rd parties. They are niether for nor against. The devs should not be influenced by the fanboi club, they should be paying more attention to what proffesional reviewers comment. Argue all you want against their views, it matters little. But the facts are there. Flame away peeps, but time will be the judge of this title. EA stuck their head in the sand with the crap they shoved down BF2 players throats and refused to listen to genuine concerns, which lost them around 40% of their fan base. So when they actually did realise there was a problem, it was too damn late. The damage was done.I am interested to hear from the creators of this game, to see how much gravity they put on independent reviews. NWN1 was and is a good game, but if too many people loose interest in playing/modding this title, then multiplayer will never be a elephants fart close to as enjoyable as the original. That is what I don't want to see. Now follows the fanboi club with +<3 arrows of heavily biased opinion to shout me down!

Thanks for the voice of reason spider, nice to see some thought going into a reply. The camara is atrocious, like lotsa reviews state. AI of groupmembers is not very good either(but I understand they are trying to remedy that). The UI has been questioned as well. Game reviewers will explain it better than me, hence the links. One example, why does a party member run over traps to attack a distant enemy? Should they not be more willing to avoid activating traps?

The ratings falls are from the fan base.....for gods sake!

Look people, I'm not trying to cast disparity on the devs(or who ever), I just want to illustrate the fact that there is a growing disenchanment with it. I would hate to see a good game being uncared for by modders ect leading to a lack of good extra content being made for it. NWN1 had and still has a popular base, but please beware that there is alot of negativity occuring out there that is getting bigger by the day. *edit, oh and some really nice replies there, remind me to insult your immaturity if you insult my wisdom young uns. I would rather help make it better than ridicule the deveolpers of this title(understand?).

Ok, for all you defenders of the faith. Put someone who has played no rpg before. Let them play oblivion (released before nwn2), then let them play NWN2. Then let them judge the game. More than likely they will preferr the former as a way better game. Dont even bring up the fact that oblivion is not miltiplayer, if it was it would beat nwn2 hands down. There are lots of hard core fans/modders of NWN out there that are very dissapointed at this effort. Maybe it is time to take heed? I am so dissapointed at this effort. Kinda reminds me how the beancounters at EA destroyed the reputation of the BF series with BF2. Idiocy at EA made them loose 40% of their fan base.
