I rechecked all the locations and it was not location specific. They let me roll the wisdom check to reduce the difficulty against the villain but the spells were already locked with no obvious roll.

Hi, I am confused on one aspect of the game. I was fighting the Wendigo in 6.1 and you have to make an arcane check before you can use a spell. However, it makes the roll "hidden" and doesn't let you apply items or blessings to it. This one roll can destroy a whole game, if your wizard cannot even use a spell against the boss. I really don't understand why the wizard or others cannot play blessings on that check. The wizard also had Robe of Runes and doesn't get to use that either.
