I do have 2.7GB left. Should I free up more memory?

Hi All, After download the recent updates, I notice that pathfinder on the ipad mini is constantly crashing. I've tried turning off sounds and music but the app still crashes and I get kicked out back to the main ipad home screen. Any ideas on what to do? Thanks.
