I'm allready playing on the min. graphic oppions. Can avoid gas through the entire game?

Here's the deal, whenever I try to walk through an area with fog or smoke, my character freezes. By saving and loading I can get past some of the smoke, but it doesn't work in the dormitories of Peragus. My computer (a laptop) meets the min. requirements, with the exeptions of video and OpenGL. Card name: Intel® 82830M Graphics Controller 64.0 MB Both the game and my chipset's driver are updated. Oh and the screen went black after creating a character, but updating the game fixed it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
