  1. im not saying that i dont think that Bethesda can make a good fallout 3, because in reality i think that they have the capacity to make a great game. as i said before, all Bethesda needs to do now is make sure to stear away from their elder scrolls roots.
  2. in a strange way, this news worries me. Bethesda, to the best of my knowledge has really only made Elder Scrolls games. I fear that having Todd Howard (producer of the Elder Scrolls games) at the helm might cause Fallout 3 to take on many similarities to the Elder Scrolls games. I have nothing against Elder Scrolls, but they are very different from what a Fallout game should be. As long as Bethesda sticks to the origional style of Fallout, i do believe that Bethesda can make a very worthy game.
  3. allow me to reiterate the fact that it isn't very easy to produce an adequate game when you have no people to work on it (which happens to be the case).
  4. you see, this business with interplay still trying to make a fallout mmog even though its nearly impossible is whats causing the problems. Interplay is doomed, and it would be better if they were to simply keel over and die already rather than hanging on by their teeth. at least then someone will be able to swipe up the fallout rights.
  5. By the way, have we heard anything from any official odsidian folks on this thread yet?
  6. i remember saying something about pesimists....
  7. Although its pretty much anyones guess who will make it, I'm quite sure someone will pick up FO3. To be honest, what im worried about is how the game will actually turn out. After all of the FO spoofs, like FO Tactics and FO: BOS, i am afraid that FO3 might not turn out to be much of a sequal to the first two.
  8. Honestly, what about bankrupcy don't you guys understand? Interplay is screwed; if they dont even have the cash to keep their office doors open, then how do you expect them to be able to produce an entire game (FO Online), which could take years. Caen's desperate attempts to keep Interplay afloat may prove successful for a while, but it is ultimately just prolonging the inevitable. Interplay will probably be looking to sell off the FO liscence as well as others by the time they go under.
  9. It seems that there are quite a few pesimists out there. You guys are making it seem as if Interplay is jealously hoarding the FO liscence, and that to buy it would cost an arm, a leg, and a pint of virgin blood. Look at this article that came out a couple months ago on gamespot.com http://www.gamespot.com/news/2004/04/15/news_6093628.html Notice that Herve Caen, Interplay's CEO states that Interplay will probably try and have an outside company work on it. Because several of the origional developers are working for Obsidian now, it would not surprise me if they were one of Interplays top choices.
  10. FO3 is a very anticipated projet. after BA's closure there was a very enraged internet population that happened to be much bigger than the original developers could have imagined. Until people started getting antsy about the creation of a new sequel to the Follout series, it was only thought to be a little cult of people who dreampt of a new fallout. After the "we want fallout 3" petition was created it is obvious that the small cult of fans was only the tip of the iceburg. If FO3 were to be produced, it would be successful, no doubt.
