I reinstalled as suggested and the game now works but, the music and graphics for the companions were missing. I verified the cache again and it now works. Thanks for all the help .

Hi I managed to download the expansion from steam without trouble and played it that day without issues however when I went to play it today it crashed on start up. Verifying the cache leads to it stating that ~250 files need to be validated after which it updates and results in a disk read error. Checking the disk for errors shows no errors and other software, both game and professional software, work fine on this disk. I've tried verifying the cache, moving the steam install, restarting the computer, and deleting the steam bob file with no success. For some reason there are two crash logs for the same date. I was doing this quest and I chose the option to lie to get Rinatto to leave. Right after doing that I went into the inn next to him and he was in the bar. When I spoke to him this happened: I think its a bug because nothing attacked me and he claimed to be leaving Twin Elms. I have a save as well but, its 5.2mb so I cannot attach with the current message board restrictions.

Hi all I found a bug with the dragonslayer NPC in "The Master Below" questline. It occurs when you choose to lie in an attempt to trick the NPC into putting the necklace on. The npc catches on to you then fights, this dialog pre-fight is where the bug occurs.
