  1. Let me be the one to burst your bubble by pointing out Obsidian hasn't removed it, at least not yet. Also, please show me the evidence the memorial WAS transphobic. I can quote it to you, if need be. The absence of evidence is not evidence that this thread is going to end any time soon. But I can continue to try to get people to look at this critically. Should I wish you luck or offer my apologies to the wall on behalf of your head? I debate creationists and evangelicals. This is a picnic compared.
  2. I really, really hope he remains anonymous. No one deserves the death threats, harassment, and attacks he will receive from the SJW crowd.

  5. Preaching to the choir. The majority of people on this thread are saying to keep it.
  6. Source on them removing it? I don't see anything on the forums.
  7. I would be fine with just a toggle option. I'm pretty sure everyone would be fine with a toggle option, except for the hardcore agenda pushers on each side. HOnestly, only on one side... for once. I have yet to see anyone, even the most rapidly anti-removal on here, have issue with the toggle. So this is a rare case of actually one sided extremism.
  8. Because double standards are hallmarks of those with hard ideological positions.
  9. Right, pretty sure you are a troll, but please provide any evidence that the person in the limmerick is trans.
  10. "Transmisogyny" When making up words reaches new levels of idiocy. Normally I am all for productive exchange, but that word doesn't even sound right.
  11. Wait, that makes a lot of sense. The man could have been dead drunk. It's a possible possibility. But that would really make these 23 pages of discussion useless. This is why this seems absurd to me. And this was the interpretation of everyone I have asked so far. Heck, I signed onto these forums expecting maybe I missed the backer themselves saying something about it. Nope.
  12. Mate, it does relate to trans people, it says so in the text, the problem is that some people seem to think that the text makes fun of trans people instead of the man who killed himself. Incidentally, those people are the ones who are offended by practically anything that moves. It's nothing. Nothing at all. 22 pages of nothing at all. 22 pages that discuss a problem that is not a problem in the first place. Where in the text? The text says that a man had sex with someone they THOUGHT was a woman. At no point is that person explicitly stated to be trans, or anything else. I used the example of the guy being sloshed as a case of "I was drunk and had sex with a guy, thinking they were a woman". So, as far as I can tell, there is no actual link to trans people beyond interpretation.
  13. The only one who can do that is the gold backer who submitted it, and he hasn't revealed himself yet. Oh God, I hope they do not. No one deserves the wolves at their heels that would cause.
  14. This is getting a bit derailed. Back on topic: Can anyone provide me evidence that this in any way does relate to trans people,a nd not (In example) just someone getting utterly sloshed?
  15. I formaly retract my statement that none had a part in FemFreq.
  16. Is not... quite true. None of those people have anything to do with FemFreq, and while I know GG has seen this, they are not the ones starting it and this is kinda outside their usual 'territory'. Correct. Also, could he have drawn just one squggly red arrow on there? Just one? I should note, his chronology of events IS correct. Just who he attributed it to is wrong. Then it becomes an accusation that "These people tweeted this". Very damning. More "These people manufactured outrage based on very little, then proceeded to lie about what was in the origional content". Damning for their character, though I will readily agree it adds nothing to the current conversation.

  19. Than your comment is more than a little off topic, it is a complete non-sequitor.
  20. I'm going to explain this once, which you will no doubt ignore. How high is the possiblity of there being an actual killing spree against men by "SJWs"? Ok, how many times has the panic defense actually been used by murder defendants? Also, are you going to post here again or did you make an account just for that? So are you arguing that somehow this joke is contributing to the actual murder of transpeople? That sounds like a slippery slope if I ever heard one... Look, I'm not arguing that bad things don't happen to transpeople, they definitely do. But I'm pretty confident that this joke has nothing to do with those things, and will never have anything to do with those things. This isn't a hill I'm going to die on. I'm just pointing out it's a little disingenouous to make them equivalent. I don't think that they believe that people posting #KillAllMen are ACTUALLY going to kill all men. But I do think that it's hate speech regardless. A little off topic, but do you think that uttering an anti-Irish slur in America and say, the N-word, today, are equivalent? I'll chime in. No, but that is amazingly american-centirc. This game is released in more than just America, so your specifying down to just America seems... strange.
  21. I'm going to explain this once, which you will no doubt ignore. How high is the possiblity of there being an actual killing spree against men by "SJWs"? Ok, how many times has the panic defense actually been used by murder defendants? Answer to the second: Actually, very, very rarely. And absolutely none have actually succeeded, due to it having no legal basis.
  22. The kicker is that this isn't even neccisarily transphobia (Though some people are saying it is a reference, though I have seen no proof of this...) The way I read it originally was that he had to have gotten severely hammered, had sex with a guy while drunk, then woke up sober and realized what he did. Sure, the joke is stupid, but I fail to see anything actually bad about it, since so little is in context.
  23. Could we not attack the people who pushed this? I know they make easy targets, but Argumentum Ad Hominem only makes the arguments your side makes seem weaker.
  24. As someone who is planning to buy the game as soon as I get my paycheck, and who finds the joke tasteless and purile. Keep it in. Yes, keep it in. The joke is stupid, but even when I asked my trans ex, 2 of my trans friends, and several non-trans individuals. All said it was a non-issue. Stupid, yes, but a non-issue.
  25. Yes, the fact that someone that actively promotes genocide and someone that was a former neo-nazi got the ear of Obsidian so easily is pretty disturbing, the minimum background check should reveal this, the fact that veteran game developers with 20-30 years of experience in the industry bow down to the wishes of these people are clearly crazy (and yes promoting genocide is crazy) is pretty telling, these demands should have been dismissed immediately after people saw where they coming from. I'm looking forward to when this thread progresses to its natural conclusion and consists entirely of speculation over Zoe Quinn's sex life. That has nothing to do with the current conversation, and you are the only person who brought her into this, exposing her to potential harrasment. Congrats.
