[Video Card]

I think I will go for the x700 because I don't have the money to invest $400 into a video card. But I will explore some different ones before I buy it. Thanks for the help everyone.

 

To answer the question about the RAM, it says the computer has 512mb both on the box and on the front of the tower.

get a GeForce 6600GT PCIe u can get it for 200 bucks or so

dont get the x700 u will regret it

and i think your vid card is sharing your ram asuming it is a on board video.

[Video Card]

I just got a new pc from gateway. It has an AMD Athalon 64 processor 3500+. It says that it's 2.2 ghz. Then I have 512 mb DDR RAM (but the computer is only picking up 384 mb of RAM ) I don't know what that is all about. And finally to the point of the topic, I have an ATI RADEON XPRESS 200 video card, which I think is absolute crap. KOTOR won't even run on the lowest possible settings. I'm thinking of upgrading to an ATI RADEON 9250 256MB PCI for $119. Is this a pretty good card? I'm not very proficient in understanding the specs of a video card to tell you the truth. Thanks for the help.

Doesn't your computer have a AGP slot? or u might mean pci express.

if so the 9800 pro's are very good price now if your looking for a cheaper card.

but if u got the money and a pci express slot go for the x800 or a 6800gt.

the 9250 card is a hunka junk espcially with your beefy processor.

hey guys i just noticed the bloom seems on only when im in the Ebon Hawk. very strange.

those screenshots are of a dead card or dying. I had that problem with a 9700 pro and ended up having to scrap it

I agree. or looks like the card is overclocked to high. the card may be overclocked if your FSB is to high, makeing the AGP run higher then spec.

try underclocking the card see if it helps.

 

Save up for a new card.

because I'm not really happy with the perfomance on my A64 3000+ (overclocked, too), X850XT, 1Gb RAM and catalyst 5.4

And setting the detail to minimum (at 1280x960) doesn't help much, the

FPS is still below 25 in alot of areas

Can't count on a game patch with engine optimizations being released anytime soon,

but maybe there're better drivers out already

Works fine on my p4 2.8 512ram mobitly 9600 128 meg notebook

running 1280x 720 WS. everything on high. but soft shadows turned off.

useing moded ATI's 5.4 cats.

[Crashing all the time]

Ok... I am having  a hell of a time getting this game working.  It crashes on me at the drop of a hat.  Get into a coversation and it crashes.  Go to an area that requires a load and it crashes.  Walk around a corner and it crashes.  Walk across a romm and then everyone disappears and it crashes.  Most of the itme is just dumps me to desktop but there have been a few where it required doing a soft shutdown by hitting the power button. 

 

I did the DX diagnostics on both sound and vedio and they both checked out fine. 

 

I have the game patched

 

I have the latest drivers for my Sound card and video card. 

 

As for system...

 

Athlon 2700  2.17 ghz

XP pro with sp2

1 gig ddr 400 dual channel

ATI 9200 SE with catalyst 5.4 drivers

SB live

 

Any help would be appriciated.  These crashes are totally ruining my gameplay experience.  When I cant even go three minutes or one long conversation in the game something is wrong.

i would make sure you have the lastest motherboard drivers installed.

also dont overclock anything and try turning your ram to safe settings in the bios if its at CAS 2 set it to CAS 3.

might be a bit slower but the stabilty will be there.

I just made my lightsaber but i did it differently then u guys.

i went to Drux moon on Orderon. after finnishing all the quests for the mandaloriens i went back to the Ebon Hawk and had BD make it.

I was so happy i finally got my saber. But its cool how we can all do it differently.

Somthing is really wrong i can't get my team mates to come with me i have arton and the old jedi stuck at the front door the droid in a forcefiled and burdah in a force feild

i have talked to every one and am on the light side. also i have fought the handmadans and still nothing i reloaded a older save game and the same thing happens

only guy that will talk to me is arrton and he has 2 opions both pc cheats.

1 ist talk to the jedi girl there and the other is to continute talking to the handmaiden.

sry for the spelling mistakes but i'm late and wanted to post this quickly.
