  1. Clutch - The Mob Goes Wild; which Hellsing is that, Jack?
  2. Masta Killa's verse on Enter the Wu absolutely nails it, it representing the essence of (good, masterful) flow, or whatever, I'm bored and surfing youtube. Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da; the alternative take from Anthology 3, different arrangement, no gender role musings. Also, here's one for the history books... haw haw haw.... get it? Rasputin? History books? Bleh, I'm gonna go watch Umberto D.
  3. Yeah, I'm sorta confining my forum presence to this one thread, birds be crying, I'm sure; anyway I did post that GZA verse from Triumph, and I'm sorta listening to the song and wondering what if Jarmusch had directed the video instead of that hack Ratner.
  4. Has anyone seen an old-school Kung Fu flick starring a dude called Wang Wu who kicks serious amounts of (drum-enhanced) ass after having his pony-tail flexed by fugly birds in colour-retarded costumes? My fault for watching undubbed KF films on the telly... next: Le mepris, La bete humaine or Dragons Forever. My head is kinda erring and I'm seriously not in the mood for Godard's pedantic arsehole, so, like, I'm gonna go with either Jackie or Jeanie, or like, go to sleep cause my ability to type and think thoughts through is definitely fubar. War of the masses, the outcome, disastrous Many of the victim family save they ashes A million names on walls engraved in plaques Those who went back, received penalties for the axe Another heart is torn as close ones mourn Those who stray, niggaz get slayed on the song.
  5. I was gonna make a joke of the "I didn't know X state legalised gay marriage" variety, but then I realised I had no idea of your whereabouts, so I cried me a river to douse and drench the oho-zing... so, hey, did you play Snoop Dogg or Funkadelic or Judge Dread at the reception?... did you have it in one of those gigantic churches with hordes of blokes and bimbos you'll never again see?... was there sex and booze and drunken misery?... you married a woman, right? Oh come on, internet stalking doesn't write itself. Hank Williams - Beyond The Sunset.
  6. You are homosexual. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
  7. No, but I did watch her take on the Holocaust. And by hers I mean the people who wrote and directed The Devil's Arithmetic. Suffice to say, it lowered my rancor towords Robbie Benigni by a full mile of guilt and middle-class angst. Still, all expletives used and ejected, she was good, or at least okay, in Bring it On. Dushku totally stole the show, though.
  8. Fugly actresses playing gorgeous debutantes make Baley sad and moody. Plus, she's about as charismatic as a dead trout.
  9. She's ugly Scratch that - she's hideous. Like, I wouldn't hit it without a doggy-bag flung freely over her huge-ass head. PS: La mari
  10. If by essential you mean the greatest thing a group of humans (that isn't the Stooges) ever conceived, than yes. Minutemen - The World Acording To Nouns. I've watched 15 Futurama episodes and a Jet Li flick - I'm gonna try watching Marnie now. No - I'm too lazy; I'll wait till the weeked, it's: Stalker, The Bride Wore Black and The Haunting. Alien's on the telly in an hour or so.
  11. Kamaal the Abstract - though Arista deemed it too uncommercial and never properly released it. I hope Q-Tip really does publish it independently. Also - the more rockish Roots albums. (Fishbone - Behaviour Control Technician Subhumans - Mickey Mouse Is Dead) Minutemen - Jesus and Tequila.
  12. I was trying to come up with a "best of the 90s" (album) playlist - you know - for the boring, never-ending morning subway rides... Enter The Wu, 1965, Mos Def and Talib Kweli are Black Star, Liquid Swords, Bone Machine, Sackcloth 'n' Ashes, The Reality of My Surroundings, In The Aeroplane Over The Sea, Inna Heights, Blues For The Red Sun... and, I'm like: No Nomeansno? Melvins? Organized Konfusion? Poor Righteous Teachers? Tomahawk? Binary Star? Jeru The Damaja? Now, I suppose a story - or a random list of obnoxiously hipster words, whichever you prefer - deserves a moral, and the only thing I've got at the moment is this: I suck immeasurable amounts of whatever at making lists - so instead of my usual, well-to-do mindless drivel, I'm gonna dig up Funhouse. The Stooges - L.A. Blues.
  13. Do they air a lot of crummy Z-Grade-action-flicks-posing-as-borderline-decent-films in Portugal?... ever see Knights? According to wikipedia, Albert Pyun trained under Kurosawa - now there's a laugh. I just watched The Day The Earth Stood Stupid.
  14. Probably big enough to warrant the description "freakishly nerdy". It's only a mix of shame and laziness that stops me from counting and arranging them in true nerd fashion. So none of you blokes seen Omega Doom? It's from the director of Nemesis (I absolutely loved this when I was a kid).
  15. Not monstrously large... as in I still have stuff like Zatoichi (the one Meta spilled his magic oil over) on VCR. Do you know of any Sci-Fi Kung-Fu flick?
  16. You are insane - the violence is way way better... and Peter Weller!... and the usual Verhoeven social commen-drivel!... the violence!... "Bitches Leave!"... it was glorious... best movie for 10 year olds ever. Honestly, I'd rather watch Soderbergh's. I'm pretty sure Tarkovsky himself preferred Stalker and was, well, pretty disappointed with Solyaris... something about it not eschewing the genre's conventions. Sorta, but I'm totally homo for Marc Caro. As for the Hauer flicks, my father's what you may call a fan - I've got a bunch of 'em on VCR, plus, they used to play them on the telly all the time when I was a kid. PS: From the guy who did A Bittersweet Life? That was fun. PPS: Hey, I got the Haunting this morning and this discussion's made me search for my Stalker DVD... good times.
  17. You are insane, I mean a) Soldier of Orange? Blind Fury? Flesh & Blood? Omega Doom? Nighthawks? Now, I'd never make a statement regarding their overall quality (with a few exceptions, naturally), but, Rutger Hauer is utterly fantastic (well, okay: pretty good) in (damn near) all his films, even if everything around him blows faster than a matriarch whore on Christmas eve... he's got style, and class and a a beautiful artistic affinity towards swords... (totally) best 80s action star, gajo, you can have your muscle-wobbling Swede... and b) I'd keep Blade Runner, 2001 and Alien, and replace everything else with: Stalker, Brazil, Delicatessen, Fahrenheit 451, RoboCop, Videodrome and Sleeper.... no specific order, of course.. special (if not mad) props: Escape From New York, City of Lost Children, They Live, Aliens, A Clockwork Orange, Charly, 1984, etcetera.
  18. Plus, it doesn't star Rutger Hauer... now, you might, of course, believe this doesn't have much to do with its philosophical exploration of various themes and motifs, and you might be, by some bizarre interference of God (praised be his name), right; but, like, you're wrong... mmm, Rutger Hauer... seriously, though, I haven't seen it a long time, so who knows, I'm not extremely fond of me-2 years' opinion (on almost everything).
  19. I'm still sorta waiting for Withteeth's insight into GITS' philosophy. I ain't really kidding here, either; I remember deeming it shallow when I saw it (2 years ago?... a long time, certainly).
  20. Yeah, but Kazan's a puckery old man... and a dirty rat. America, America wasn't half bad, I guess; still, I don't much care for his sex related aesthetic perceptio... thingamajigs.
  21. So... do you by "awesome" mean "naked"?
  22. It's playing in this artsy cinema 20 minutes away from my high-school. Thing is, they're gonna kick me out, if I skip anymore classes, which means I can only see it in the afternoon when the fair is highest and the crowd fullest... would you, by any chance, describe it as a collective experience? PS: Yeah, I meant Mala Educacion. PPS: I've seen both GiTSs, quaint flicks - Innocence is, as I've previously mentioned, a visual treat.
  23. I've got a horrible track record with horror flicks... The Thing DVD's still waiting its turn next to Shane and this awful Bunuel musical (I was barely able to find)... Romero and Argento are basically unknown to me and I've yet to watch any of the "classic" exploitation, ahem, nunsploitation films.... yet, I don't feel bad 'bout this, not at all, really... Muso says I should watch Shiri. PS: I saw Kika when I was 5; couldn't stand the camera work in Tacones Lejanos (but, you know, it's been a while, opinions change and preferences even more so)... I've always wanted to watch his gay flick... is it any good? Volver's in town, or so my Biology teacher tells me. PPS: Sorry, I've seen Rosemary's Baby... and Repulsion... and Le Locataire; I'm totally homo for Polanski. Now, The Hauting - I'll look for it.
  24. Well, yeah, he's yet to surpass Angel's Egg - Innocence was visually interesting and he did write Jin-Roh, which in retrospect (the script) wasn't all that great, plus I think he spreads his legs for Godard big time; but, like, I'd rather watch 10 minutes of Angel's Egg than all of Spirited Away, so he wins by default.... I need you to recommend me something to watch, I've got: Nuts in May, Heart of the Dragon, Crisis, A Lesson In Love, Proc
