Which game is more buggy - KOTOR I or KOTOR II?
Intrama replied to Burnzzz's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
KOTORII by far. I could atleast play KOTOR without it crashing right away. -
Regardless of the ending, and btw--thanks for being so blunt (what if someone had no prior knowledge to the disappointment of it..?), many people want to play--post something productive or piss off.

1/3 load Bug, problem with the suggested fix
Intrama replied to Burnzzz's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Yes, it's not an issue solely with Ati.. so please people--get a ****in' life and stop saying "there's no hope for you ati people" or "man your video card sucks get nvidia!" it's a bug--I garauntee that point. I'll be the first to report back that it's worked when the patch is released, and if I must eat my words.. I will do so then, but not a second sooner. Waiting for the all mighty patch.. -
I really hope soon. I paid good money for this game and I KNOW I can play it--now granted, my game won't look as breath-taking (actually I heard the graphics suck teh big one anyhow.. but hey.. haha) but I will be able to play. Bottom line: That's all I care about. I wanna be able to play without having it crash, etc. Join the Brotherhood of the Black Screen of Death (BSoD)..!!

Dkun, you'rer exactly right. People with crap cards AND good cards are having that EXACT SAME THING happen..
-
It seems that a VAST amount of people have the same problem you do, I for one have been experiencing this annoying bug for about 2 weeks now. This patch, quite frankly, seems to be our only real hope--no other "fix" gets perfect results and it doesn't help 'everyone' with the problem. Wait for the patch.. and hope.

Crash after first cutscene; Radeon 7500
Intrama replied to vlatko27's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Most people I see that have the same problem I'm having (BCoD after intro movie..) are very different breeds.. graphic card wise I mean! I've seen people with crap cards.. mediocre cards.. good cards.. and amazing cards.. ALL have the same problem. It's not our fault guys.. and hopefully this patch lets us play this (presumably) wonderful game.. I just want to play.. even if the settings are all low.. -
I give a big old amen to that.. it doesn't even sum up how frustrated I've been since buying the game.

This thread is ONLY for IGP users who wish to discuss the current issues with KOTORII. The only acception is if you have first hand knowledge of a person with an IGP playing this game fine (no freeze ups after the asteroid belt.. etc). So let's hear it, any progress guys/girls? Here's my run down: Game installed fine. Game seemed to play fine, in the menu area, character selection, etc.. and then after the initial scrolling text movie--AND the asteroid belt movie.. I see the interior (30% of the time) of the Ebon Hawk and then it freezes.. or (the other 70% of the time) it doesn't show the interior.. I hear music.. then it black screens.. and BANG.. microsoft error. ~ What's yer war tale eh?

Radeon IGP 345M / Comments appreciated..
Intrama replied to Intrama's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I ran that "3DMark2001 SE" program and scored 1706 points. The only thing that didn't run was Pixel Shading, every single other thing worked beautifully. This is a call out.. IGP users.. where ya at? Let's talk about this, have any of you IGP got this working? I'll start a topic on it if I don't hear back within a bit. Thanks. -
Radeon IGP 345M / Comments appreciated..
Intrama replied to Intrama's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
In my Windows Folder, I have a folder named "Radeon 9200 - IGP 345M" so I assume I have the equivalent of a 9200.. which meets requirements. I'll await the patch and see if I can run it. (I have actually made some more progress by disabling movies again.. I saw the interior of the ebon hawk (great graphics) and then I moved a lil'.. and THEN it froze). I'm saying very clearly "hold out the hope IGP / 9200 / ATI users in general!" I know I'll be able to play the game, just need the intro movie bug fixed. Go LA/OB Go.. make a good patch and make us proud. -
Radeon IGP 345M / Comments appreciated..

So I've got two different opinions being thrown at me, one of you says I can play it.. but there will be some known issues.. and the other is saying "negative". I can play KOTOR, VTMB, and many others just fine.. I could care less about performance, SERIOUSLY, I just wanna know when this game is patched (assuming it fixes my problem) will I be able to go through the game playing? (Crappy performance compared to others or not..) Thanks for replying guys--let's keep this going.. as I know there are many owners with the same video card as me! -
Hello fellow KOTOR lovers (or haters.. depending solely on how much LA/OE has angered you.. lol). I come before you with a question! And that question is.. Can people with "Radeon IGP 345M"'s play KOTOR II? I was told by "Jason" at Lucas Arts that there is no hope and I should try and seek a refund. Is this the truth? I played KOTOR just fine, and heck I've played newer games and found them running just great. Can the IGP 345M play this? Thanks. (Edit: I can install the game, load the game, make a character, and see the "asteroid belt" intro.. then when it's supposed to go into the Ebon Hawk's interior.. it black screens, I hear music--sometimes, and then a Microsoft Error report thing pops up..) PS: I have the newest drivers, have tried older ones, and have a nice laptop.. it's brand new.

Ah thank you for the update Obsidian.. this is all I needed to hear to stay faithful to the cause.. hehe. I'm really psyched.. good job Ob!!

We're all aware of what can happen to companies when they make small mistakes.. that in all actuality.. become monster mistakes in the long run. Obsidian seems to have a bright future.. but that's only if they step up to the plate and communicate with the consumers! Tell us you're working on a patch.. damnit guys.. please just let us know!
