Why is there a range on party assist dialogue? I was talking to an NPC, and i needed 6 meta to tell the dialogue, and aloth had way more. I backed out, brought him closer and then it let me say the dialogue, like what?

So do I have to make sure every single of my companion is on top of each other before i talk to each NPC? Cuz them being in formation and standing like 1m apart from each other and starting a convo is "out of range". Is there anyway to like, report this or give feedback on something like this? Have Obsidian already commented on this, like is this an intended feature, or a bug?

Well. It’s done, so if you sneak around the map with one character the others can contribute to check’s, scripted interactions.

Your Aloth must be really standing far away - never had that problem. Maybe it would be possible to extend the range a bit?

I had the same happen to me twice and my party was standing not very far away - it is a bit irritating as you can´t always back out of a conversation when it happens as you are forced to give an answer. Only workaround is to save often and quickload if it happens.

He was standing 1m away from my char, as how my formations are. it was a small room, so he couldn't really be that far, so idk D:. But yeah, as Ciocco also said, can't even back out of most dialogue checks.

Glad to hear it’s being removed as I agree with OP. I have gotten in the habit of placing my party around every npc before I speak to them. I even use different walking formations for combat areas and cities to keep the party close together if I expect to do more talking.

There is a range, but it's been removed for v1.0.3.

Do you mean v1.0.2? Or is the 1.0.3 the upcoming patch which is not yet on Steam?

v1.0.3 is the next large patch that isn't out yet.
