Prologue Freeze on Mac

I am new to computer gaming. I own a macbook and I desperately wanted to play this game. The game freezes after the prologue where I get zapped into the Pillar. I have pieced together from tidbits from other threads that there's a patch to fix this. 

 

How do I download this patch? 

What happens after you get zapped into the pillar? I've got 123 minutes worth attempts at this task alone! The anticipation is killing me!

Hi Spikepit,

 

The patch should be able to load when you load from steam, and we have had our patch 1.1 since launch. Are you still experiencing this problem? Please let us know!

The patch fixed all. I think anyway. One day (about the 6th in a row trying) I booted it up and it was all g. Thank you!
