When in conversations and scripted interactions you have to perform a skill check and it calculates based on your skill level plus some combination of party members skills. How is this determined? i.e. take say... mechanics... if I have mechanics skill of 2, and eder has skill of 1 and xoti has mechanics of 3... is my overall mechanics skill 6? i.e. 2+1+3? or is there something else going on?

How dows it work? Looks weird.

For example I have 2 survival (as shown in the levelup screen) and my party has 6 6 2 0. The game then tells me that my final skill is 2+5=7

Why? How?

I have 1 mechanics and my party has 2 4 1 4 and the game tells me that my final skill is 1+6=7.

Sorry I don't understand that at all.

Here, a developer posted this:

(Total Companion Skill, Assist Bonus)

1, 1

2, 2

4, 3

7, 4

11, 5

16, 6

22, 7

29, 8

And I extrapolated this:

1, 1 100%

2, 2 100%

4, 3 75%

7, 4 57%

11, 5 46%

16, 6 38%

22, 7 32%

29, 8 28%

Yeah, I was surprised -- shouldn't have been I guess -- that which party member attempts the task matters a lot. Party Assist is not symmetrical: it's your ability plus some contribution from the rest. (I'd assumed it was the max of the rest, but your example shows it's not that simple. I'm curious as to the formula as well.

I found some relevant information, but the thread title was really weird and the post has ne keywords, so I had to deep-google it to find it.

Keep in mind while for passive skills your MC usually is the user of the skill but for active skills your party members can actually be the user. So you can have someone else use mechanics or pickpocket and have your MC focus points elsewhere (Athletics is good because often you get no party support for the checks).
